Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. DentalScapes aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
We are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address known gaps.

Measures Taken to Support Accessibility
DentalScapes takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:
- Include accessibility as a requirement in our development process.
- Use semantic HTML5 landmark elements (
<main>,<nav>,<footer>,<section>) to support screen reader navigation. - Provide a skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- Ensure all interactive elements have visible focus indicators using
focus-visiblestyles. - Associate all form labels with their inputs using
htmlFor/idpairs andaria-requiredattributes. - Provide text alternatives for all meaningful images via
altattributes. - Maintain a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- Ensure navigation menus communicate their expanded/collapsed state via
aria-expanded. - Use
aria-liveregions to announce dynamic content changes (form success/error states). - Conduct periodic accessibility reviews and address identified issues.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions:

Videos embedded from YouTube may not have full captions or audio descriptions for all content. We encourage users to use YouTube's built-in caption controls. We are working to ensure all video content has accurate captions.
Third-Party reCAPTCHA
Our contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA v3, which operates invisibly. Some assistive technologies may not interact with reCAPTCHA as expected. If you experience difficulty submitting a form, please contact us directly at hello@dentalscapes.com.
